After a short gap in December and January, our main meet will be back from 19th February 2022 from 1pm. We will be back at our usual venue The Old Red Bus Station for the usual mix of fun and games, and fursuits are all welcome (though as ever not a requirement).
With the continued presence of COVID, we will of course be taking some precautions, similar to those seen in meets late last year.
Do I need to be fully vaccinated to come to the Leeds meet?
No, there are two accepted methods, both of these options require digital proof to be presented to maintain the safety of all attendees:

It is with regret that we must announce that the Leeds Furs meet on 15th January is cancelled. This is due to the continued high levels of COVID cases and transmission as well as the booster campaign still being rolled out.
Add the restricted availability of LFT tests that would be required, we feel cancelling is the best decision for the safety of our community.
We will instead be hosting a virtual meet on our Discord server from 12 noon – come join us!Back to all News and Reports
Following the cancellation of this weekend’s furmeets due to COVID, LeedsFurs are delighted to announce that we have partnered with BrumFurs and FursOFLondon to create a single large virtual meet from 12 noon on 18 December.
We hope this will enable people to meet old friends and make new ones.
Our virtual furmeet will not be hosted on our usual Discord server but over on the newly created UKFurry Meet Hub. As always, we hope to see many of you there!Back to all News and Reports
It is with regret that we must announce that the Leeds Furs meet on 18 December is cancelled. The Leeds Furs team apologises for the short notice of this announcement, but we feel this is best due to the rising number of COVID cases in the UK this week.
Furthermore, following recent events, a number of our staff have either tested positive or must self-isolate. Of further concern is the rapid spread of the Omicron variant and the fact that the majority of our attendees have not yet received their Booster vaccination. With the meet scheduled just one week before Christmas, we feel it would be best not to jeopardise anyone’s plans for the holiday season.
Instead, we will be hosting a virtual meet on our Discord server from 12 noon on Saturday. We will also make a statement in the new year concerning both the coffee meet and the regular January meets and hope we are in a position to run these.
We thank you for your understanding and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.Back to all News and Reports
We are delighted to announce that the first in-person Leeds Meet since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic will take place on Saturday 16 October from 1pm (updated start time).
We will be returning to our old haunt, The Old Red Bus Station on Vicar Lane.
We kindly ask that you either present proof of vaccination in the NHS app or a negative lateral flow test taken no later than 48 hours before the start of the meet in order to protect other attendees.
The format of the Meet will be similar to those before the pandemic, while we intend to have a fursuit walk at 3pm, weather permitting.
This will be the first meet since February 2020 and we are really looking forward to seeing you all again.
Also, don’t forget we also have a casual Coffee Meet at Geek Retreat next Tuesday, 5 October, from 5:30pm.Back to all News and Reports
After the success of the Coffee Meet on 21 September, our first since the COVID pandemic, we are delighted to inform you that these will be returning regularly. They will move back to their usual position of the first Tuesday of every month from 5 October and will be at Geek Retreat in Central Arcade between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
Going forward, to ensure everyone’s safety, you must demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated through the NHS app or present a negative lateral flow test which has been taken no later than 48 hours before the meet commencing. It is also important to familiarize yourself with the requirements of the venue.
Please do NOT attend the meet if you are feeling ill.
Geek Retreat has no fursuit changing facilities so the Coffee Meets are not suitable for fursuiting. However, we are hoping to resume the Main Meets very soon and will update you as soon as we can.
Thanks for your patience and to everyone who made last night’s meet a success. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the Coffee Meets soon.Back to all News and Reports
It has been a challenging 18 months due to the COVID pandemic, with uncertainty as to when we would be able to resume meets. As it stands, we are still a fair way away from the regular meets returning, but we are delighted to announce our first Coffee Meet of 2021. It will take place from 5-7:30pm on Tuesday 21 September at Geek Retreat on Central Road in Leeds.
There isn’t planned to be fursuiting at this coffee meet, as this is a shorter evening event and there are no changing facilities available. We will look to resume this with the return of the regular meets later.
As the safety of our attendees is important, we ask that you either demonstrate you are fully vaccinated through the NHS app or present a negative lateral flow test which has been taken no later than 48 hours before the meet commencing. Please also familiarize yourself with the requirements of the venue.
If you feel ill then please do NOT attend the meet. If things go smoothly, we will look to resume the Coffee Meets regularly, with a view to the main meets returning in due course. This means this month’s main meet, scheduled for 18 September, will still be on Discord.
In the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all again soon.Back to all News and Reports
LeedsFurs have always taken pride in the strength and diversity of our community and the wider Furry fandom. Together we stand against all forms of discrimination including the scourge of racism. We wholeheartedly believe Black Lives Matter and will do everything we can to support POC within our community and around the world.
There should be no place in this world for any form of racism, bigotry or discrimination. Our community has been and always will be inclusive and a safe space for all. We cannot begin to understand what it’s like to face such racial discrimination on a daily basis, but we’d like to help wherever we can.Back to all News and Reports
It was with great regret that we were forced to cancel Saturday’s Leeds Furmeet due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19. We are aware that the news was met with disappointment, but we thank you for the understanding you have shown. In light of the current circumstances, we felt it was the only decision we could make.
With the Government and NHS advocating social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus, we are also aware that this could lead to mental health problems and feelings of loneliness. Added to this is the dislocation felt by the increased uncertainty the virus has brought with it, in terms of our way of life but also the threat to our loved ones and livelihoods. It is clear that we need each other more than ever and that looking after each other will become increasingly important in the coming weeks. We are a global community, but we are also a local community, and we are all in this together.
In lieu of running a physical meet at our usual venue on Saturday, we have decided to launch our first Leeds Discord Social, or LDS, from noon. You will be able to find us here: https://discord.gg/twWsgtd
Everyone is welcome, if you’re local to Leeds or further away, as we don’t see why this virus should stop us from socialising with each other. So, grab your drink of choice, fire up your machine and join us throughout the afternoon on Saturday. Proceedings will begin at noon with our traditional fursuit walk around your own front rooms at the usual time of 2:30pm. We look forward to seeing you.Back to all News and Reports
